This module is an upgraded version of the simple copyright solution designed for Joomla! CMS version 1.5 Native. Rather than upgrading from Simple Copyright Solution, please install this module as described below and publish it after uninstalling the Simple Copyright Module. This module, like the Simple Copyright Module is Native to Joomla! 1.5 and will not work with Joomla! 1.0.

This module displays, "©" followed by the optional, "Custom Pre-Date Text" followed by, the current year which updates automatically; followed by, the site name as defined in the global configuration which displays automatically (or can be configured manually), followed by the optional "Custom Post-Text Information".

Example of final product if your site name is, "Widgets" and you entered, "2005 -" in the Pretext Box, and you entered, "Inc. All Rights Reserved." in the Post Text Box:

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Notice: This module is native to Joomla! 1.5 and will not work on Joomla! 1.0

Installation is pretty straight forward using the core Joomla! installation process. Simply download, install and publish in the position of your choosing. Then input custom text in the optional Pre Text and/or Post Text fields.

Step 1

Download the file from the "Downloads" section of this site.

Step 2

Log in to your Joomla! Administrator Panel.

Step 3

Click on the menu, "Extensions". Select the option, "Install/Uninstall".

Step 4

Under the first tab, "Install" (this should be automatically selected by default), the first box says, "Upload Package File". Upload the file, "mod_fhw-adv-copyright.zip". The installer will tell you that it was a successful installation.

Step 5

Click on the top navigation menu, "Extensions" again. Select the option, "Module Manager".

IMPORTANT: If your Web site currently displays the default footer that comes with the installation package, you must turn off this module. Look under the "Type" column for a module named, "mod_footer". Click on the green check box that shows up under the "enabled" column to un-publish that module. You will know it has been un-published if the green check-mark is replaced with a red "X". If you currently have Simple Copyright Solution published, make sure you either uninstall or unpublish this version prior to the new installation.

Find the Advanced Copyright Module in your Module Manager (under the "type" column the file name is, "mod_fhw-adv-copyright"

Step 5

Enable the module by clicking on it and selecting, "Yes" next to enabled. Select, "No" next to, "Show Title". Select your position where you want to display your new copyright module. The positions are controlled by your template PHP and XML files.

Step 6

Set your Optional Pre-text and Post-text parameters by entering custom text into the boxes on the right under the "Parameters" section.

Click on "Save" on the top right of your screen and you're done!
