Can you make something like this:

www.geoxeo.com/content/events.html

I have contacted that developer and although it is a Joomla extension, he is not currently offering it to anyone, even as a commercial app.

Poke around and check out the features. make sure you set the filters to show "all authors". There are a few things in the US, but scroll over to England if it's not already there when you start. It is an amazing extension!

Thanks for not laughing too hard.....

This is a googlemap api turned into a Joomla component.

We actually have plans to release a googlemap api in the next few months. However we are still working out some bugs and don't foresee a release before the summer.

I would recommend you search the JED for a GoogleMap API extension, there are a few good ones. You might try "Event List".

We are in the beta testing phase of 3 components right now and can't add to it. But expect a GoogleMap component by the summer from us.

That GeoXeo component was a wishlist request.... It doesn't exist for us mere mortals. Like I said earlier I use GMaps currently. I spent a TON of time researching different mapping extensions, and when I committed a couple years ago, that one was certainly the closest to what I needed. There may be others that have been enhanced at this point, but I've got a ton of data I currently use in GMaps and if I'm going to make a transition it needs to be to a platform that does it all or a significantly larger portion of what I need.

I have a local friend here in DFW that is an "anti-CMS" type who uses Google docs to actually drive a similar/simpler mechanism, but it is less feature-filled than GMaps and far less than I need going forward. It could be enhanced to do more of course, but that involves hard coding and that is above my head for the most part. He is willing to help me with it if I care to go that route, but when I saw that GeoXeo site, I knew that would be a shrot route to a solution if it were available.....which it's not.

What types of features are you anticipating for your mapping extension?
